Competent at neonatal vaccination, adult health checks, geriatric health checks, minor procedures including blood pressure measurement, wound care, and administration of long term medication to name a few.

• I completed a week’s work experience with 'Hook two sisters' on a broiler farm.
• I learned about biosecurity and bird welfare, including identifying sick or injured birds, understanding of litter upkeep, feed, water and ventilation systems on a chicken farm.

• During another experience with a vet assistant from 'St David’s Vet' we visited game bird rearing farms and I was able to see the procedures of checking things like security and welfare.

• Volunteered part time in between my job and school at a veterinary clinic.
• This helped me gain a lot of group skills and taught me how to work under pressure.
• The position I was given also meant that I had a lot of contact with the pet owners and as such I developed a wide range of communication skills on various levels.
• For example, sometimes a more sympathetic approach was required, when other times called for a more reassuring approach and I found I gained trust by being dependable and honest.
